ABOUT ELLSWORTH CUTTING TOOLS
BUILT ON INNOVATION. DRIVEN BY PRECISION. PROVEN IN PRODUCTION.
Ellsworth Cutting Tools was founded in 1980 on a simple conviction: production tooling should never be generic.
Founder Ellsworth Miller III saw firsthand how standard tools were forced into specialized applications, sacrificing efficiency, tool life, and consistency. He believed cutting tools should be engineered around the exact demands of the job. Geometry should serve a purpose. Materials should match the environment. Performance should be measurable.
So he built a company that did exactly that.
From the beginning, Ellsworth Cutting Tools focused on application specific engineering for real production environments. Not theory. Not catalog solutions. Real machining conditions. Real tolerances. Real accountability.
Today, that same discipline defines every tool that leaves our floor. Our work supports aerospace, automotive, defense, heavy equipment, oil and gas, OEM manufacturing, and other demanding industries where failure is not an option.
EVOLVING BEYOND PERFECTION
Ellsworth Cutting Tools was built on more than innovation. It was built on understanding.
The philosophy is direct: know why, not just how.
Every cutting edge, clearance angle, coating, and material selection is intentional. Our craftsmen and engineers are trained to understand the function behind the geometry. This depth of knowledge is what separates precision manufacturing from simple production.
Across our team, we bring more than 200 years of combined cutting tool experience. That experience is applied to solving complex problems, refining tool life, consolidating operations, and improving repeatability across high volume and tight tolerance environments.
Leadership continues under Ellsworth Miller IV and Douglas Baditoi, who carry forward the company’s original standard while expanding its capabilities. With 13,000 square feet of advanced manufacturing space and continued investment in modern equipment, Ellsworth Cutting Tools is positioned to support both legacy programs and next generation production demands.
We are not in the business of selling tools.
We are in the business of engineering performance.
